Aaron Lee Ward (August 28, 1896 – January 30, 1961) was an American infielder who played for the New York Yankees (1917–1926), Chicago White Sox (1927), and Cleveland Indians (1928). A product of Ouachita Baptist University in Arkansas, Ward spent a decade as a utility infielder for the Yankees under managers Bill Donovan and Miller Huggins, appearing in four World Series—1921, 1922, 1923, and 1926. He collected ten hits in the 1923 Fall Classic and recorded the first hit at Yankee Stadium on Opening Day, April 18, 1923, off Red Sox pitcher Howard Ehmke. During the offseason, Ward served in the Arkansas State Legislature as a reading clerk.
