Grail ("we", "us", "our") operates grail.app. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how we use it. We keep it short because we don't collect much.
Information We Collect
Email address. When you join the waitlist, we collect your email address. That's it — no name, no phone, no payment info at this stage.
Analytics data. We use PostHog to understand how people use the site — page views, feature interactions, session duration. This data is aggregated and used to improve the product.
Cookies. We use standard session cookies and analytics cookies (PostHog). We also place tracking pixels for the eBay Partner Network to attribute qualifying purchases. See the Cookies & Tracking section below.
Log data. Our servers automatically log IP addresses, browser type, referring URLs, and request timestamps. This data is used for security and debugging and is not sold or shared.
How We Use Your Information
Waitlist communication. We use your email to notify you when Grail launches or when early access opens. We won't spam you, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
Product improvement. Analytics data helps us understand which features matter and where the experience breaks down. We use this to prioritize what we build.
Affiliate tracking. eBay Partner Network cookies let eBay attribute purchases to Grail so we receive commission on qualifying sales. This has no effect on what data we show you or how listings are ranked.
Cookies & Tracking
PostHog. We use PostHog for product analytics. PostHog may set cookies to distinguish sessions and track events. Data is processed in accordance with PostHog's privacy policy.
eBay Partner Network. When you click an eBay listing on Grail, eBay may set a tracking cookie or pixel to attribute the visit. If you complete a qualifying purchase, eBay pays us a small commission at no cost to you.
Standard web cookies. We use session cookies for basic site functionality. These expire when you close your browser.
Affiliate Disclosure
Grail participates in the eBay Partner Network. When you click an eBay listing and make a qualifying purchase, we earn a small commission. This does not affect the listings we show or how we rank comps. For full details, see our Affiliate Disclosure.
Data Retention
We retain waitlist email addresses until you request deletion or until six months after Grail launches, whichever comes first. Analytics data is retained for 24 months. Log data is retained for 90 days. To request deletion of your data, email us at support@grail.app.
Third-Party Services
PostHog — product analytics. Data may be processed in the US and EU. See posthog.com/privacy.
eBay Partner Network — affiliate tracking. See eBay's Privacy Policy.
Supabase — database and authentication. Data is stored in Supabase's managed Postgres infrastructure. See supabase.com/privacy.
Your Rights
GDPR (EU/UK residents). You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. You may also object to processing or request portability. Contact us and we'll respond within 30 days.
CCPA (California residents). We do not sell your personal information. You have the right to know what data we hold about you and to request its deletion.
