Addie Jossportrait played professional baseball during the early twentieth century, in the era documented by the tobacco-and-caramel card issues of the day. His likeness survives in the cardboard record on the E90-1 American Caramel issue. The E90-1 American Caramel set, issued circa 1909-1911, was one of the largest caramel-card releases of the era and a key competitor to the contemporaneous tobacco issues. Detailed biographical records for many supporting players of the 1909-1915 era are sparse; what survives in the historical ledger is often the cardboard itself, which fixes the player in time and team even when the fuller arc of his life is no longer recoverable.
