Al Atkinson

Al Atkinson (born 1943) is an American former football linebacker who played for the New York Jets in the American Football League and the National Football League from 1965 to 1974. He played college football at Villanova as a two-way lineman from 1962 to 1964, earning All-East honors in 1963 and 1964. With the Jets for ten seasons, he was a member of the team's championship squad that won Super Bowl III following the 1968 season, a year in which he was named an AFL All-Star. He recorded 21 interceptions over his career, co-leading the team with five in 1967.
