Alan Thomas Hrabosky, nicknamed "the Mad Hungarian," was a right-handed relief pitcher who spent 13 seasons in Major League Baseball with the St. Louis Cardinals, Kansas City Royals, and Atlanta Braves. Born July 21, 1949, in Anaheim, California, he attended Savanna High School before enrolling at Fullerton College, where he set career records in strikeouts (264), innings pitched (197), and strikeouts per nine innings (14.07). The Cardinals selected him in the first round in January 1969, and he made his MLB debut at age twenty. He later became a television commentator for the Cardinals.
