Alonzo Albert Mattern (June 16, 1883 – November 6, 1958). Born and died in West Rush, New York. Standing 5-foot-10 and listed at 165 pounds, batted left-handed and threw left. He worked the major leagues from 1908 through 1912, spending the bulk of his career with the Boston Braves of the National League. His professional career stretched from 1901 to 1914, bracketing his big-league time with seasons in the minors at both ends. His pre-war card record spans E254 Colgan's Chips, and T206 White Border. He is interred at Pine Hill Cemetery in Rush, New York.
