Allan Eugene Sims (born April 18, 1953) is a Canadian professional hockey defenceman who played ten NHL seasons between 1973 and 1983 with the Boston Bruins, Hartford Whalers, and Los Angeles Kings. Drafted by both the New York Raiders of the World Hockey Association and the Boston Bruins in 1972, Sims chose to sign with Boston, where he spent six seasons and appeared in three Stanley Cup Finals (1974, 1977, 1978). After retiring as a player, Sims moved into coaching, serving as head coach of the San Jose Sharks during the 1996–97 NHL season and continuing in minor league coaching roles through 2016.
