Alexander "Boots" Smith (April 2, 1902 – November 29, 1963) was a Canadian ice hockey defenceman. Born in Bootle, England, he grew up in Ottawa, Ontario. He played 11 seasons in the National Hockey League for the Ottawa Senators, Detroit Falcons, Boston Bruins, and New York Americans between 1924 and 1935, appearing in 443 games with 41 goals and 50 assists. He won the Stanley Cup with Ottawa in 1927. After his playing career he coached several teams, including the Ottawa Commandos, with whom he won the Allan Cup in 1943.
