Walter "Babe" Pratt (January 7, 1916 – December 16, 1988) was a Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman and left winger who played in the NHL from 1935 to 1947 for the New York Rangers, Toronto Maple Leafs, and Boston Bruins. He was a key contributor to two Stanley Cup championship teams — the 1940 Rangers and the 1945 Maple Leafs — and won the Hart Trophy in 1944. Suspended briefly in January 1946 after admitting to betting on hockey games, he was reinstated after pledging to stop. Pratt was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1966.
