Bake McBride
Dossier
Arnold Ray McBride, nicknamed "Shake 'n Bake," played outfield in Major League Baseball from 1973 to 1983 for the St. Louis Cardinals, Philadelphia Phillies, and Cleveland Indians. A Fulton, Missouri native who attended Westminster College, McBride debuted with the Cardinals in 1973 and earned the 1974 National League Rookie of the Year award. He represented the National League in the 1976 All-Star Game. McBride's career peak came with the Phillies, where he was part of the 1980 World Series championship team, hitting a three-run home run in Game 1. Recurring knee injuries and a 1982 eye infection limited his availability across more than half his career.
