Bill Bailey

William F., known as "Bill", was born April 12, 1888 in Fort Smith, Arkansas, and died November 2, 1926 in Houston, Texas. He made his major-league debut in 1907 and was associated chiefly with the St. Louis Browns, with his final big-league appearance coming in 1922, a span of 16 seasons. His broader professional career — including minor-league service — extended through 1925. He stood 5-foot-11 and was listed at 165 pounds, and batted and threw left-handed. He appears on the E254 Colgan's Chips and E92 Nadja Caramels issues, two of the defining sets of the deadball era. He is buried at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery in Houston, Texas; Section I - Lot 128.
