William Edwin Melton (July 7, 1945 – December 5, 2024) was an American professional baseball third baseman who played in Major League Baseball from 1968 through 1977. Nicknamed "Beltin' Bill," he spent the bulk of his career with the Chicago White Sox, where he won the 1971 American League home run title and earned a spot on the 1971 AL All-Star team. He also played for the California Angels and Cleveland Indians. After his playing career, Melton worked as a television sports commentator for NBC Sports Chicago White Sox broadcasts.
