Bill Plummer

William Francis Plummer (March 21, 1947 – March 12, 2024) was an American professional baseball catcher who played in Major League Baseball from 1968 and 1970 through 1978. Born in Oakland, California, Plummer was selected by the Chicago Cubs from the St. Louis Cardinals organization in the 1967 Rule 5 draft. He spent the bulk of his career with the Cincinnati Reds, serving as a backup catcher during the dynasty years in which the club won four National League pennants and two World Series championships between 1970 and 1976. He also appeared with the Seattle Mariners before retiring.
