William Thomas Stanfill (1947–2016) was a defensive end who played college football at the University of Georgia, where he was a three-time All-SEC selection and won the Outland Trophy in 1968 as the nation's top interior lineman. Selected by the Miami Dolphins, he played in the American Football League before the AFL-NFL merger brought his team into the NFL in 1970. Stanfill was a member of the Dolphins' two Super Bowl-winning rosters. Before his football career, he was a multi-sport standout at Cairo High School in Georgia, earning state titles in discus and the basketball state tournament MVP award.
