William Joseph Sullivan (February 1, 1875 – January 28, 1965). A native of Oakland, Wisconsin, he died in Newberg, Oregon. Standing 5-foot-9 and listed at 155 pounds, batted right-handed and threw right. He worked the major leagues from 1899 through 1916, spending the bulk of his career with the Chicago White Sox of the American League. He had turned professional back in 1896, several seasons before his big-league debut. He also took the reins as a major-league manager during the 1909 season. Among collectors of the era, his card appearance is anchored by the T206 White Border issue. He is interred at St. James Catholic Cemetery in McMinnville, Oregon.
