Roberto Francisco Ávila González (April 2, 1924 – October 26, 2004), known as Bobby Ávila in the United States, was a Mexican professional baseball second baseman from Veracruz, Mexico. He began his career with the Puebla Angeles of the Mexican League (1943–1947) before spending ten seasons with the Cleveland Indians (1949–1958) and splitting 1959 among the Baltimore Orioles, Boston Red Sox, and Milwaukee Braves. Ávila won the 1954 American League batting title with a .341 average, earned The Sporting News AL Player of the Year that same season, and was named to the AL All-Star team in 1952, 1954, and 1955.
