Robert Raymond Boone, born November 19, 1947, in San Diego, California, was a catcher and manager in Major League Baseball. After attending Stanford University, he was drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies in the sixth round of the 1969 amateur draft and reached the majors in late 1972.
