Bob Oliver

Robert Lee Oliver (February 8, 1943 – April 19, 2020) was a right-handed first baseman and outfielder who played in Major League Baseball for the Pittsburgh Pirates, Kansas City Royals, California Angels, Baltimore Orioles, and New York Yankees between 1965 and 1975. Born in Shreveport, Louisiana, he grew up in North Highlands, California, where he lettered in baseball and basketball at Highlands High School before playing college ball at American River College. Signed by Pittsburgh before the 1963 season, Oliver spent several years in the minors before being selected by the expansion Kansas City Royals in the 1969 draft, where he joined fellow rookies Pat Kelly and Lou Piniella.
