Robert Herber Parsons (June 29, 1950 – July 8, 2022) was an American football punter and tight end. He played college football at Penn State under Joe Paterno before being selected by the Chicago Bears in the fifth round of the 1972 NFL Draft. Parsons played for the Bears from 1972 to 1983, serving as the team's primary punter and recording a franchise-record 884 punts at a 38.7-yard average. In 1981 he punted 114 times, setting an NFL single-season record. After being released by Chicago in 1983, he played in the United States Football League with the Birmingham Stallions.
