John Robert "Bob" Savage (December 1, 1921 – July 26, 2013) was an American pitcher in Major League Baseball who appeared between 1942 and 1949. Born in Manchester, New Hampshire, he batted and threw right-handed and stood 6 feet 2 inches. Savage signed with the Philadelphia Athletics and made his major-league debut on June 24, 1942. He pitched for the Athletics (1942, 1946–1948) and the St. Louis Browns (1949), compiling a 16–27 record with a 4.32 ERA and 171 strikeouts over his career. His playing career was interrupted by World War II service in the United States Army, during which he was wounded and received three Purple Hearts. After baseball he worked for Wilson Sporting Goods, later operated his own sporting goods store, taught physical education in New Hampshire, and served as Clerk of the Probate Court of Coos County. His career fell within baseball's pre-integration and World War II eras.
