Robert Bernard Schnelker (October 17, 1928 – December 12, 2016) played tight end in the NFL for nine seasons, primarily with the New York Giants. He played college football at Bowling Green State University, earning All-Ohio end honors twice and later entering the school's athletic Hall of Fame with its inaugural class in 1964. Selected by the Cleveland Browns in the 29th round of the 1950 NFL Draft, Schnelker served in the Marines before joining the Philadelphia Eagles and eventually the Giants. A two-time Pro Bowler, he was part of the 1956 NFL Champion Giants. With the expansion Minnesota Vikings in 1961, he caught the first touchdown pass in franchise history from Fran Tarkenton.
