Bobby Byrnes UER played professional baseball during the early twentieth century, in the era documented by the tobacco-and-caramel card issues of the day. His likeness survives in the cardboard record on the T204 Ramly issue. The T204 Ramly set, issued in 1909 by the Mentor Company for Ramly and T.T.T. cigarettes, is recognized for its black-and-white player portraits within ornate gold frames. Detailed biographical records for many supporting players of the 1909-1915 era are sparse; what survives in the historical ledger is often the cardboard itself, which fixes the player in time and team even when the fuller arc of his life is no longer recoverable.
