Brooks Ulysses Lawrence (January 30, 1925 – April 27, 2000) was a right-handed pitcher who played in Major League Baseball from 1954 to 1960. Born in Springfield, Ohio, he served in the US Army during World War II before attending Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. He debuted at age 29 with the St. Louis Cardinals, going 15–6 with a 3.74 ERA as a rookie in 1954. Traded to Cincinnati before the 1956 season, Lawrence had his best year with the Redlegs, posting a 19–10 record and 3.99 ERA, opening the season with 13 consecutive wins and earning a National League All-Star selection.
