David Gus "Buddy" Bell (born August 27, 1951) played 18 seasons as a third baseman in Major League Baseball, primarily with the Cleveland Indians, Texas Rangers, and Cincinnati Reds. A five-time All-Star, he won six consecutive Rawlings Gold Glove Awards from 1979 through 1984. The son of outfielder Gus Bell and father of former third basemen Mike and David Bell, the Bells are one of five families with three generations in the major leagues. Bell later managed the Detroit Tigers, Colorado Rockies, and Kansas City Royals, and served in front-office roles including vice president and senior advisor with Cincinnati.
