Burgess Owens (born August 2, 1951, in Columbus, Ohio) played safety in the National Football League for ten seasons. He was raised in Tallahassee, Florida, where he attended Rickards High School. Owens split his professional career between the New York Jets and the Oakland/Los Angeles Raiders, earning a championship ring with the Raiders in Super Bowl XV in 1980.
