César Leonardo Tovar (July 3, 1940 – July 14, 1994) was a Venezuelan professional baseball player who spent twelve seasons in Major League Baseball from 1965 to 1976. Known as "Pepito" and "Mr. Versatility," he served primarily as the leadoff hitter for the Minnesota Twins, helping the club win consecutive American League Western Division titles in 1969 and 1970. Listed at 5-foot-9 and 150 pounds, Tovar was a contact hitter who struck out just 7% of the time. In 1968, he became only the second player in MLB history to play all nine positions in a single game. He also played for the Phillies, Rangers, Athletics, and Yankees.
