Charlie Gogolak

Dossier
Charlie Gogolak is a Hungarian-born placekicker who played in the National Football League from the mid-1960s onward. Selected sixth overall in the 1966 NFL Draft out of Princeton University, he was the first placekicker taken in the first round of the draft. Gogolak played for the Washington Redskins and the New England Patriots, and was among the earliest "soccer-style" kickers in the league alongside his older brother Pete. In a 1966 game against the New York Giants, the brothers combined for fourteen extra points, tied for the most ever in a single game.
