Cliff Chambers was a left-handed pitcher who appeared in 189 Major League Baseball games from 1948 to 1953, playing for the Chicago Cubs, Pittsburgh Pirates, and St. Louis Cardinals. Born in Portland, Oregon, he played college baseball for the Washington State Cougars before breaking into the majors with Chicago in 1948. Standing 6 feet 3 inches and weighing 208 pounds, Chambers is best remembered for throwing a no-hitter against the Boston Braves on May 6, 1951, while pitching for Pittsburgh.
