Coby Dietrick (born July 23, 1948) played college basketball at San Jose State, earning second-team All-Pacific Coast Athletic Association honors in 1970. The center spent thirteen professional seasons (1970–1983) across the ABA and NBA, with the bulk of his career coming with the San Antonio Spurs — a franchise that made the jump from the ABA to the NBA following their 1976 merger. He also appeared with the Chicago Bulls. Dietrick retired with career averages of 6.1 points and 4.5 rebounds per game, and later won a CBA championship with the Tampa Bay Thrillers in 1985.
