Darryl Floyd Stingley (September 18, 1951 – April 5, 2007) was a wide receiver for the New England Patriots from 1973 to 1978. Born and raised on Chicago's West Side, he starred as a running back at John Marshall High School before accepting a scholarship to Purdue University, where he was converted to wide receiver under head coach Bob DeMoss. Selected 19th overall in the 1973 NFL Draft, he recorded 110 receptions for 1,883 yards and 14 touchdowns over 60 regular season games. His career ended at age 26 following a spinal cord injury sustained on the field.
