David Eugene LaRoche (born May 14, 1948, in Colorado Springs, Colorado) was a left-handed relief pitcher who played professional baseball from the late 1960s through the early 1980s. Drafted by the California Angels in the fifth round of the 1967 amateur draft out of West High School in Torrance, California, LaRoche compiled a career record of 65–58 with a 3.53 ERA and 819 strikeouts across 1,049⅓ innings. He is best known for throwing a variant of the eephus pitch he called "La Lob." He later served as a pitching coach, and is the father of former MLB players Adam LaRoche and Andy LaRoche.
