David McMakin played tight end in the NFL from 1972 to 1976 for the Pittsburgh Steelers, Detroit Lions, and Seattle Seahawks. A Clemson product, he was selected 63rd overall by Pittsburgh in the third round of the 1972 NFL Draft.
