Dick Bosman was a right-handed pitcher who played in Major League Baseball from 1966 to 1976 with the Washington Senators/Texas Rangers, Cleveland Indians, and Oakland Athletics. He started the final game for the expansion Senators and the first game for the Texas Rangers. In 1969, Bosman led the American League in earned run average (2.19) with a 14–5 record, and reached a career-high 16 wins in 1970. He is the only pitcher in Major League history to miss a perfect game due to his own fielding error.
