Richard Clark Ellsworth (March 22, 1940 – October 10, 2022) was a right-handed starting pitcher who spent the bulk of his Major League Baseball career with the Chicago Cubs (1958, 1960–1966). Born in Lusk, Wyoming and raised in Fresno, California, Ellsworth graduated from Fresno High School in 1958 and signed with the Cubs for a reported $70,000 bonus. He made his major league debut that same year on June 22 against the Cincinnati Reds. Named an All-Star in 1964, Ellsworth also pitched for the Philadelphia Phillies, Boston Red Sox, Cleveland Indians, and Milwaukee Brewers before retiring after the 1971 season.
