Richard Edward Lajeskie (1926-1976), sometimes listed as Dick Lajeski, was an American infielder who appeared in six Major League Baseball games as a second baseman and pinch runner for the New York Giants in 1946. Born in Passaic, New Jersey, he batted and threw right-handed and was listed at 5 feet 11 inches and 175 pounds. The Giants signed him out of Passaic High School in 1943 for a reported $10,000 bonus, and he was assigned to Jersey City of the Class AAA International League before entering the Marines in 1944, serving through 1945. In his brief major league career he started four games at second base and appeared twice as a pinch runner, collecting two singles, three walks, and one hit by pitch in 14 plate appearances, scoring three runs. He did not appear in the major leagues again but continued playing in the minor leagues until 1951.
