Richard Lee Stuart (November 7, 1932 – December 15, 2002), nicknamed "Dr. Strangeglove," was a right-handed first baseman who played in Major League Baseball from 1958 to 1966 and again in 1969, with two seasons in Nippon Professional Baseball in between. A two-time All-Star, Stuart was part of the 1960 Pittsburgh Pirates club that defeated the New York Yankees to win the World Series, and he captured the 1963 American League RBI title. Standing 6-foot-4 and 212 pounds, he signed with Pittsburgh out of Sequoia High School in Redwood City, California, in 1951 for a $10,000 bonus.
