Dossier

James Donald "Bones" Raleigh (1926–2012) was a Canadian centre who played his entire NHL career with the New York Rangers from 1943 to 1956, appearing in 535 regular-season games. He earned his nickname from a 150-pound frame, making his debut at seventeen during the 1943–44 season. On February 25, 1948, he became the first Ranger to score four goals in a single game, doing so against the Chicago Black Hawks. In the 1950 Stanley Cup Finals, Raleigh scored overtime winners in both games four and five against the Detroit Red Wings — the first player to score back-to-back overtime goals in Finals history.
