Donald Gilbert Joyce (1929–2012) played defensive end in the NFL for the Baltimore Colts, where he was part of the championship defensive line of the late 1950s. A Tulane University alumnus who lettered in 1949 and 1950 and was later inducted into the Tulane Hall of Fame, Joyce contributed to one of the most significant games in pro football history when he recovered a fumble in the 1958 NFL Championship Game. After his playing career, he worked for years as a college football scout.
