Don James Larsen (August 7, 1929 – January 1, 2020) was a right-handed pitcher who spent fifteen seasons in the major leagues between 1953 and 1967, suiting up for seven franchises including the St. Louis Browns, Baltimore Orioles, New York Yankees, Kansas City Athletics, Chicago White Sox, San Francisco Giants, Houston Colt .45s, and Chicago Cubs. A native of Michigan City, Indiana who grew up in San Diego, Larsen is best known for throwing the only perfect game in World Series history, accomplishing the feat in Game 5 of the 1956 Fall Classic. He earned the World Series MVP and Babe Ruth Award for that postseason.
