Don McIlhenny

Donald Brookes McIlhenny (November 22, 1934 - April 18, 2023) was an American football halfback who played in the National Football League for the Detroit Lions, Green Bay Packers, Dallas Cowboys, and San Francisco 49ers. He played college football for the SMU Mustangs. The Lions selected him in the third round, 27th overall, of the 1956 NFL draft, and he led the team in rushing over the first four games of his rookie season. He spent four seasons with Green Bay as a reserve halfback, leading the team in rushing in 1957 with 384 yards. Selected by the Dallas Cowboys in the 1960 expansion draft, he became the franchise's first starting halfback and scored the first rushing touchdown in Cowboys history, finishing the 1960 season with 321 rushing yards.
