Douglas Gordon Young (October 1, 1908 – May 15, 1990) was a Canadian ice hockey defenceman who spent the bulk of his professional career with the Detroit Red Wings. He broke in as a junior with the 1926 Memorial Cup champion Calgary Canadians before moving through the Canadian Professional Hockey League's Kitchener Millionaires and the IHL's Cleveland Indians. Young reached the NHL on October 18, 1931, arriving in Detroit via the Philadelphia Quakers and New York Americans before a trade. He served as Red Wings captain from 1935 to 1938, leading the club to two Stanley Cup championships during that span.
