Doyle Lafayette Alexander (born September 4, 1950, in Cordova, Alabama) was a right-handed pitcher in Major League Baseball who appeared for eight franchises over his career. He attended Woodlawn High School in Birmingham and Jefferson College in Hillsboro, Missouri, before being drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the ninth round in 1968. He debuted with the Dodgers in 1971, then moved to the Baltimore Orioles in the December 1971 trade that sent Frank Robinson to Los Angeles. His first winning season came with Baltimore in 1973, when he went 12–8 with a 3.86 ERA. He was later dealt to the New York Yankees in a multi-player trade in June 1976.
