Doyle Marion "Porky" Lade (1921-2000) was an American pitcher who played in Major League Baseball for the Chicago Cubs from 1946 to 1950. Listed at 5 feet 10 inches and 183 pounds, he made his major league debut in September 1946, appearing in three games. His most active season came in 1947, when he set personal highs with 25 games started, 34 appearances, more than 187 innings pitched, and an 11-10 record with a 3.94 earned run average. In 1949 he worked mainly as a swingman, pitching in 36 games, starting 13, and going 4-5 with a 5.00 earned run average. He remained on the Cubs roster into the spring of 1951 but was released on May 15 of that year as the club trimmed its roster, ending his major league career. His final major league appearance came on September 29, 1950. He spent his entire five-season big league career with the Cubs.
