Duane Charles Josephson (June 3, 1942 – January 30, 1997) was a right-handed catcher from New Hampton, Iowa, who attended the University of Northern Iowa before reaching the majors. He played parts of eight seasons in Major League Baseball with the Chicago White Sox and Boston Red Sox between 1965 and 1972, finishing with a .258 batting average, 23 home runs, and 164 RBI across 470 games. His best season came in 1968, when he earned an All-Star selection and set career highs in hits (107), doubles (16), triples (6), and RBI (45). He was forced to retire at 30 due to pericarditis.
