Duane Xavier "Dee" Pillette (July 24, 1922 – May 6, 2011) was a right-handed pitcher who spent parts of eight seasons in Major League Baseball from 1949 through 1956, appearing for four clubs including the New York Yankees and St. Louis Browns. A Santa Clara University alumnus born in Detroit, Michigan, Pillette was a second-generation major leaguer — his father Herman pitched in the American League between 1917 and 1924. Pillette debuted with the 1949 World Champion Yankees before being traded to St. Louis, where in 1951 he led the American League in losses with 14.
