Dunc McCallum

Duncan Selbie McCallum (March 29, 1940 – March 31, 1983) was a Canadian professional ice hockey player born in Flin Flon, Manitoba. He appeared in 187 NHL games with the New York Rangers and Pittsburgh Penguins, and 100 WHA games with the Chicago Cougars and Houston Aeros between 1966 and 1975. A broken leg suffered in a 1973 exhibition game ended his playing career. McCallum went on to coach the Brandon Wheat Kings of the WHL for five seasons, earning Coach of the Year honours twice. He died on March 31, 1983, and the WHL Coach of the Year award was renamed the Dunc McCallum Memorial Trophy in his honour.
