Emil John "Dutch" Leonard (1909–1983) was a right-handed knuckleball pitcher who spent 20 seasons in Major League Baseball. He pitched for the Brooklyn Dodgers (1933–1936), Washington Senators (1938–1946), Philadelphia Phillies (1947–1948), and Chicago Cubs (1949–1953), finishing with a 191–181 record, 1,170 strikeouts, and a 3.25 ERA across 3,218 innings. A six-time All-Star, Leonard was selected for the All-Star Game six times during his career. Born in Auburn, Illinois, he later served as the Cubs' pitching coach from 1954 to 1956 immediately following his playing days.
