Edward Martin Herrmann (August 27, 1946 – December 22, 2013) was a catcher born in San Diego, California who played in Major League Baseball from 1967 through 1978. He debuted with the Chicago White Sox at age 20 on September 1, 1967, and went on to play for the New York Yankees, California Angels, Houston Astros, and Montreal Expos. A left-handed batter who threw right, Herrmann posted his best offensive season in 1970 with a .283 average, 19 home runs, and 52 RBI. In 1972 he led the American League in intentional walks and topped all AL catchers in baserunners caught stealing.
