Edward George Gerard (February 22, 1890 – August 7, 1937) was a Canadian ice hockey player, coach, and manager. Born in Ottawa, he played ten seasons for the Ottawa Senators, beginning as a left winger before moving to defence, and retired in 1923 due to a throat ailment. Gerard won the Stanley Cup in four consecutive years from 1920 to 1923, three times with Ottawa and once as an injury replacement with the Toronto St. Patricks in 1922. As a coach and manager he led the Montreal Maroons to a Stanley Cup in 1926 and also coached the New York Americans. He was one of the nine inaugural inductees into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1945.
