Eddie Murphy

Dossier
John Edward "Honest Eddie" Murphy (1891–1969) was a right fielder who played Major League Baseball for the Philadelphia Athletics, Chicago White Sox, and Pittsburgh Pirates. He appeared in three World Series — with the Athletics in 1913 and 1914, and with the White Sox in the 1919 series, best known for the Black Sox Scandal. Murphy holds a notable place in MLB history for recording hits in each of his first 12 career games in 1912, the longest hitting streak to open a career by any player under 21 years old, a record that stood until 2023.
